Twitter has released a new search tool called Topsy. It is now possible to search all tweets since the inception of Twitter. Basic search is free but those interested in more detailed analytics, marketers and advertisers, can pay for a Pro subscription. I wonder how long before they offer educational pricing? This may be a very useful tool for research.

I am very interested in seeing the day that old tweets start showing up in presidential election campaigns and commercials. I’m sure this tool is for big data research, but I would have to imagine that someone will find a way to use it for less-than-scientific purposes someday. Thanks for the post.
